Q: What is the Junk Hat?
A: The JUNK HAT is a chain-dropping, 808-sounding, analog machine that is operated much like a hi hat. It allows you to achieve new sounds in rock, pop, country, hip-hop, Americana, and wherever else your imagination takes you.
Q: What would I use the Junk Hat for?
A: The JUNK HAT has several sounds but was mostly designed to duplicate programmed snares without having to use an electronic pad. We also designed it to utilize the open/close function on a hi hat stand which drops the chains onto the metal bottom giving you that swampy Americana sound.
Q: Do I need special hardware to use the Junk Hat?
A: No! The Junk hat works on any hi hat or snare stand; including low boys and remote hi hat stands.
Q: Where is the Junk Hat made?
A: The Junk hat is handmade in Nashville, TN by the BaldMen, Danny and Mike!
Q: What is the difference between the Junk Hat OG and Junk Hat 2.0?
A: The Junk Hat OG includes the wooden top with chains and the hand hammered metal bottom. The Junk Hat 2.0 also includes the Add-On package; containing 3 stacks of hand-hammered chunks and 3 stacks of tambourine jingles that attach directly to the Junk Hat top. Watch the comparison video!
Q: Do I need to use the felts from my hi hat clutch when attaching it to the Junk Hat top?
A: No! The felts can give the Junk Hattop a bit more jiggle and movement, but they are not necessary to use with your junk hat.
Q: Can I use the Add-On package on the Junk hat OG?
A: Yes! All of the Junk Hat OGs come with the pre-drilled holes for the Add-On pack so you can always purchase it later on!
Q: Is the JUNK HAT only for drummers?
A: No! Although it was designed by drummers for drummers, we have have been picked up by hundreds of producers, recording studios, school music programs, and instrument rental locations as well.
Q: Are you planning to release any other products?
A: YES! We have several new products in the works and are excited to release them to the drumming community soon!
Q: Do you have a patent on the Junk Hat?
A: Yes! We officially have a patent on the Junk Hat and and can be found on the official US Patent website.

Q: How long does it take to receive my Junk Hat once I order?
A: Within the United States anywhere from 2-4 days once shipped. International can range from 1-3 weeks depending on customs for each individual country. Since both Baldmen are full time touring musicians, there are instances it could take up to 2 weeks to get your Junk Hat in the mail.
Q: How much does shipping cost?
A: Shipping cost depends on your location and is calculated at checkout using your zip-code!
Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: Yes! We can ship anywhere in the world - if you do not see your country listed on checkout, please send us a message with your country and zip-code and we will add it!

Q: What do I do if part of my Junk hat breaks?
A: We hope to never have any major issues with our products, but if an issue arises please CONTACT US and we will do our best to resolve the problem on a case-by-case basis.
Q: What is your return policy?
A: We offer a two week return on all orders (you pay for the shipping) as we always want our customers to be happy! Just send us a message, ship it back, and we will offer you a full refund as long as there are no visible dents or chips.
